A 1975 graduate of the Law School of the University of Pennsylvania, from which he also obtained his undergraduate degree, Paul F. Lantieri is a retired member of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC and a long-time member of its Executive Committee. He chairs the products liability practice group, is responsible for hiring and, reflective of his regional practice, is managing attorney of the firm’s Lancaster Office. He has authored various articles relating to products liability and coverage issues.

Since joining Bennett, Bricklin and Saltzburg LLC in 1977, Paul has represented clients, which include a number of Fortune 500 companies and various insurance carriers, in virtually every facet of civil litigation. For over 35 years, Paul has focused his practice in the products, environmental and toxic tort areas, handling significant liability and coverage matters. He represented a party in Pennsylvania’s leading lead paint coverage suit and successfully defended a chemical company in the very first actions brought under the federal Superfund law. He regularly has defended clients in asbestos, benzene, lead paint, ink and latex glove litigation. He also has represented various chemical and pharmaceutical companies in claims involving a number of products, including pesticides, dry cleaning chemicals, mastics and roofing supplies.

Outside the environmental arena, Paul has substantial experience defending manufacturers and designers when their products have been alleged to have caused catastrophic personal injuries or significant property damage. The products involved have ranged from conveyors, food production equipment, windows, storage tanks, electric arc furnaces and equipment and devices used in refineries. Among his clients is one of the largest engineering and construction companies in the world. Paul also on occasion has defended professional liability and fraud claims brought against notaries, accountants, realtors and sellers of real property. One of his cases has become one of the leading appellate authorities on fraud and misrepresentation law applicable to real estate agents and home sellers.

Paul is a member of several professional organizations, including the International Association of Defense Counsel and the Defense Research Institute and is rated AV Preeminent® by Martindale-Hubbell. He believes one of a lawyer’s most important functions is providing clients with early, honest and accurate assessments of the merits of their cases and costs associated with litigation. He views the lawyer-client relationship as a partnership which can succeed only with frequent and open communication about the progress of lawsuits and the clients’ objectives. Paul was also named a 2015 - 2017 and 2019-2022 Pennsylvania Super Lawyer®[i]

Paul and his wife have three children, all of whom are married. They have been blessed with three grandsons and one granddaughter (so far) and Paul enjoys nothing more than spending time with them.
