Joseph DeDonato is a member of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC and the managing attorney of the firm's office in Livingston, New Jersey. Joe joined the firm in 2020 after 35 years as a partner and executive committee member of a mid-size civil litigation defense firm with offices in New Jersey and New York.
Joe represents clients in a diverse practice which includes defending actions involving product liability, insurance coverage, professional malpractice (lawyers, doctors, architects, engineers and insurance brokers), construction, aviation, environmental, motor vehicle and transportation, resort and theme parks, toxic tort and general liability matters of substantial exposure. He has tried many cases to verdict in both New Jersey and New York. Based on his extensive trial experience in New Jersey, the Supreme Court of New Jersey has designated him as a Certified Civil Trial Attorney. Only 2% of all lawyers admitted to practice in New Jersey are Board Certified. He was originally Board Certified in 1990 and has maintained this Certification through each required period of re-certification to date. Joe has briefed and argued significant cases in the State and Federal appellate courts of New Jersey and New York. He has had numerous precedential reported decisions as attorney of record. Joe graduated from Rutgers University in 1979 with a B.A. degree in Business Administration and from Seton Hall School of Law in 1983 with a J.D. degree.
Joe's rating by Martindale Hubbell is Preeminent, being 5.0 out of 5.0. He has been listed as a New Jersey Super Lawyer®[1] since the inception of that program in 2005 through 2021.
