James T. Moughan is a member of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC’s Special Investigation and Fraud team. A native of Philadelphia, Jim attended Drexel University graduating cum laude in three years in December 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. After college, Jim then spent the better part of 1976 working as a laborer and then a labor foreman on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline Project in Valdez, Alaska.

Jim received his Juris Doctor from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in 1980. While at Temple, Jim was appointed a staff member in 1978-79 and then an Editor in 1979-80 of the Temple Law Review. After graduation, Jim served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable John B. Hannum in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1980-82.

In September 1982, Jim joined the Offices of Duane Morris where he was an associate in the litigation department and was elected partner in January, 1988. In January 1992, he left Duane Morris and became a founding partner of Britt, Hankins & Moughan where he concentrated his practice in the area of special investigation and affirmative fraud litigation as well as class action litigation.

In January 2016 Britt, Hankins & Moughan merged with Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC where Jim continues to concentrate his practice in the area of insurance fraud special investigation and litigation as well as class action issues and litigation.

Jim is a member of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations and was also named as a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® from 2007-2014 [i] .When Jim is not practicing law he and his wife enjoy their family time which now includes five amazing grandchildren.
