Job Summary - Summer Associate

Every year Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg seeks the best and brightest law students to join our team for the summer. Summer Associates at BBS will work closely with attorneys on a variety of insurance defense work, where they will be guided on how to approach legal writing and case strategy. This position requires Associates to investigate facts, review case documents, research legal issues, and draft legal memoranda, correspondence, and pleadings.

Providing technical support to staff attorneys, Summer Associates perform legal research and assist in drafting and filing legal documents; specifics will include, but are not limited to:

  •  Perform legal research utilizing both written and electronic sources
  •  Gathers and compiles facts and relevant case information
  •  Prepares draft memos
  •  Assists attorneys in brief and opinion writing
  •  Drafts pleadings and motions
  •  Assists attorneys in preparing for depositions and trials
  •  Track and record billable hours
  •  Be familiar with and follow firm and client billing policies and procedures
