Pamela A. Carlos is a member of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC and heads the firm's Bad Faith and Insurance Coverage team. Pam received her Juris Doctor from Temple University School of Law in 1989, where she was also a member of the school's Moot Court Team.
Prior to joining the firm in January of 1993, Pam worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the Philadelphia District Attorney's office in the Major Jury Trial Division, where she tried numerous criminal matters to verdict. With her membership in 1997, she immediately assumed the position of chair of the firm's SIU team. While continuing to serve as chair of the SIU team, Pam began to become involved in the defense of insurance bad faith matters. Due to the magnitude of the developments in bad faith law, Pam relinquished her position as chair of the SIU team and joined the firm's bad faith team on a full-time basis in 2004. Since that time, Pam's practice has concentrated in the areas of insurance coverage and the defense of insurers in bad faith matters involving commercial and personal lines property insureds.
Pam has been heavily involved in litigating matters arising from the catastrophic property damage events most notably Hurricane Irene and Superstorm Sandy. She has served as both lead and local counsel for a number of large national carriers in mass storm litigation matters. She has also been called upon to counsel her clients in the pre-event stages to establish protocols for handling anticipated e-discovery and policy interpretation issues. In addition, she has considerable experience in the investigation and defense of large commercial litigation property losses involving fire, water, mold and environmental damages and related business loss of income and extra expense claims.
Pam has also presented numerous seminars and lectured in the areas of insurance coverage and bad faith for private insurers, the Pennsylvania Defense Research Institutes and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. From 2009 to 2017 Pam was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer®.
