Joseph Acquaviva is an associate with Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC. From our Philadelphia office, Joe represents the firm's clients in a wide range of insurance coverage matters, including all aspects of property and casualty coverage as well as bad faith litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Joe was an associate on the bad faith team of a regional insurance defense firm. He also worked for an international law firm where he represented defendants in a variety of general liability matters, concentrating on product liability, construction litigation and professional liability. Joe was also involved in litigating third-party insurance coverage disputes. He has drafted numerous coverage opinions involving various complex legal matters, ranging from dram shop actions to toxic tort claims.
Joe obtained his undergraduate degree in 2003 from Temple University, and his Juris Doctor in 2006 from Temple University School of Law. While in law school, Joe served as an intern for the Honorable Allan L. Tereshko of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Civil Trial Division and for the legal department of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA).
Joe is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey, as well as the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. He also admitted to practice in the United State Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and in 2015 was named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer® Rising Star[i].
A Philadelphia native, Joe is a diehard Eagles, Phillies, Sixers and Flyers fan. When not spending time with his wife and four sons, Joe enjoys playing the drums. He is recorded playing drums on several songs on Bill Ricchini’s 2002 album, Ordinary Time, which Rolling Stone magazine declared, “One of the 10 best albums of the year.”
