Warren F. Sperling is a member of Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC and has been
managing attorney of the firm's New Jersey office since 1992. He obtained his J.D. from Widener University Law School in 1982. He started at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC after his graduation from law school and was elected a
member in the firm in 1987.
Currently, Warren's practice takes him to the State and Federal courts in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. His work is focused in several areas. In construction law, Warren has developed a sub-specialty in the defense of building collapse cases. He is extensively involved in the representation of a metal building manufacturer relating to claims against it arising out of building collapses in the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas. The cases have provided significant experience in the application of the economic loss doctrine, as well as the application of the BOCA Code and Metal Building Manufacturers Association Manual.
In addition to defending various product manufacturers in the products liability area, Warren, as a member of the Coalition of Food Industry Counsel ("COFIC"), has specialized in defending manufacturers and processors of food products in product liability claims in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has lectured at COFIC's annual meeting and tried to verdict numerous lawsuits involving allegations of adulterated food products.
Warren has also devoted considerable time to litigating issues pertaining to the interrelationship between the motor vehicle insurance laws of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He has argued such matters in trial and appellate courts in both states and frequently lectures to automobile insurers on that subject.
If there is one aspect of Warren's practice which takes precedence over all others, it is the idea that a successful outcome at trial is only possible if the attorney and client develop an appropriate theory of the case. Trial preparation and significant contact with the client prior to trial are the keys to this strategy.
