A 1975 graduate of the University of
Pennsylvania Law School, Paul F.
Lantieri is a member of Bennett,
Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC and its
executive committee. He chairs the
products liability practice group and,
dividing his time between Philadelphia
and Lancaster, is the managing attorney of the firm's central Pennsylvania office.
Since joining Bennett, Bricklin &
Saltzburg LLC in 1977, Paul has
represented clients in virtually every
facet of civil litigation. He has
focused his practice in the
environmental and toxic tort areas,
dealing with both liability and coverage
matters. He represented a party in the
leading lead paint coverage case in
Pennsylvania. He has defended clients in
asbestos, lead paint, and DES litigation
virtually since the inception of those
lawsuits. He has also defended clients
in environmental claims, including a
defendant in the very first action
brought under the Federal Superfund Law,
and in "sick building" cases. Paul has
successfully defended a number of
manufacturers of industrial and
household products against claims that
those substances had toxic effects.
Included were individual and class
action suits brought against a
manufacturer of lead paint. He also has
been involved in the defense of claims
arising out of alleged exposure to
benzene-based products, roofing
supplies, dry cleaning chemicals, and
latex gloves.
In addition, in the products liability
field, Paul has had a substantial amount
of experience defending manufacturers
and designers whose products are alleged
to have caused fires, catastrophic
personal injuries, and other damages. He
also handles professional liability
claims brought against accountants and
notaries. Paul successfully defended a
client in one of the leading
Pennsylvania cases dealing with seller
and realtor liability in connection with
the sale of real estate. In addition, he
has authored various articles relating
to coverage and other aspects of civil
litigation.
Paul believes that one of a lawyer's
most important functions is to provide
clients with early, honest and accurate
assessments of the merits of their cases
and the costs associated with
litigation. He views the lawyer-client
relationship as a partnership which can
be successful only if there is frequent
and open communication about the
client's goals and how best to reach
them .
Paul and his wife have three children.
Recently they have been blessed with two
grandsons, and in his free time Paul
enjoys nothing more than being with
them.
