She concentrates her practice in the general liability area, having defended clients in premises liability, animal attacks, homeowners' and personal negligence claims. Mary Ann has also litigated hundreds of automobile liability claims and, in this area, concentrates her practice in the defense of uninsured and underinsured motorist claims. She has obtained favorable results in Federal and Common Pleas arbitrations, alternative dispute resolution proceedings, jury and non-jury trials in the five-county area as well as numerous summary judgments and judgments on the pleadings. She has substantial appellate experience in her areas of expertise.
Her legal research and writing skills have been well-utilized in the preparation of opinion letters, discovery and judgment motions, post-trial and appellate motions. The motions and research have covered issues as simple as the homeowners' responsibility for a dog bite and as complex as the impact of misrepresentation to life insurers and conflicts of laws in multi state litigation. She is the co-editor of the BB&S News, the firm's periodic newsletter to its clients.
