Geoff
Peterson is an associate at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC. He works in
the firm's Philadelphia office on the special investigation and fraud
team where he defends clients who are being sued under suspicious, or
even fraudulent, circumstances. Most of his cases involve personal
injury claims stemming from automobile accidents. Practically all of
them end up being tried before juries.
Originally from New York State, Geoff attended college at the University
of Rochester, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and
Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor from the University
of Pittsburgh in 1997.
After graduation, Geoff joined the Office of the District Attorney in
Chemung County, New York, where he worked for five years as an assistant
district attorney . He was responsible for prosecuting cases from arrest
through sentencing including case assessments, charging decisions,
grand jury presentation, plea negotiation, pre-trial hearings, trial and
sentencing. During this time Geoff tried 50 to 60 cases before juries
and tried hundreds of cases before a single judge.
In 2003, Geoff joined the offices of Willman & Arnold in Pittsburgh, PA.
While there, he focused his practice on complex civil litigation
involving toxic torts. He defended multiple corporate clients throughout
the courts of Western Pennsylvania and Northeastern Ohio.
Moving to Southeastern Pennsylvania in 2008, Geoff returned to
practicing criminal law at the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
While there, he prosecuted all types of misdemeanor and felony cases.
Geoff is currently licensed in New York and Pennsylvania. He and his
wife, Maureen, are the proud parents of their five year old son and two
year old daughter.
