David C. Ray began
his career as a litigator at the
Defender Association of
Philadelphia in 1980, where he
learned from
experience trial practitioners
and from trying
his own cases in the
trenches
including five years in the
Major Crimes unit. From
there his
practice expanded to both
criminal and civil matters while
working at a general practice
firm in Bensalem.
He then became a partner
in Plakins, Rieffel and Ray
which,
while located in Doylestown,
centered its litigation practice
primarily in Philadelphia. He
was the head of its general
litigation unit trying cases
assigned by various insurance
companies. For several years his
focus was the defense of
construction accident claims and
toxic tort
and mass tort
litigation.
In his position at Bennett,
Bricklin and Saltzburg
LLC, David has
continued to handle a variety of
civil litigation generally
defending tort claims brought
against individuals and
corporations.
He handles such matters in both
the federal and state
courts in the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania. Throughout his more
than 30 years of practice
he has tried hundreds of cases
to verdict.
Born in Melbourne,
Australia, David lived his
childhood years in Brazil and
still speaks some Portuguese. He
is married with two children who
are engaged in their own
careers. He lives in Wyncote,
Pennsylvania.
