Ellen Wilber is of counsel at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC, in its Philadelphia office where she works on the firm's Automotive, Premises Liability, Asbestos and Products Liability teams. Ellen received her undergraduate degree in 1991 from Clemson University and her Juris Doctor from Widener Law School in 1997. While attending Widener Law School she was a member of the criminal defense clinic. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Ellen was named a Pennsylvania Rising Star in 2006 and 2007 by Thompson Reuters. She sits as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia County Settlement Conference Program as well as serving as an arbitrator for the compulsory arbitration program.
Prior to joining the firm, Ellen worked at another insurance defense firm in Philadelphia where she handled cases in the areas of automobile liability, premises liability, toxic tort, and workers compensation. She has conducted numerous depositions, arbitrations, and mediations. Throughout the years she has gained extensive experience in the area of asbestos litigation and has defended clients who manufactured or supplied gasket material, packing material, valves, brakes, soot blowers and steam traps. The representation of such clients has included obtaining summary judgment on their behalf and attending and defending plaintiff, corporate representative and expert witness depositions. She has also tried asbestos cases to verdict obtaining favorable verdicts for her clients in the Pennsylvania state courts.
In her free time, Ellen enjoys spending time with her family, running and attending her sons' sporting events.
