Experience:

Obtained dismissal of a case with $5 million demand against numerous fire departments; claims of negligence in fighting a fire and defamation were dismissed with prejudice as no valid causes of action were pled.

Obtained dismissal of a case against a municipality and a building inspector based on the Political Subdivision Tort Claims Act; the plaintiff resident of the municipality attempted to set forth causes of action based on the building inspector’s revocation of an occupancy permit.

Obtained dismissal of a case against an elevator service company where the plaintiff alleged that she slipped on wet stairs because an elevator was out of service; successfully argued that no duty of care was owed to the plaintiff and that there was an intervening and superseding cause of the plaintiff’s injuries.

Obtained verdict in excess of half a million dollars for the plaintiff's insurance company for a subrogation claim against a fireplace manufacturer where an improperly installed fireplace caused a fire in a home.
