Barkha Patel is an associate at Bennett, Bricklin & Saltzburg LLC, practicing in the firm’s New Jersey office. She is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Barkha concentrates her practice in the exploration and analysis of potential insurance fraud on the part of medical providers and facilities. She speaks four languages including English, Gujarati, Spanish and Hindi. Barkha has also recently learned how to communicate via sign language.
Barkha received her Juris Doctor degree from Drexel University’s Thomas R. Kline School of Law where she was enrolled in the university’s accelerated law program receiving both her undergraduate degree and law degree over the course of six years. During both her second and third years in law school, Barkha competed at the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court competition. She also submitted principal and reply briefs in the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit acting as student counsel during her year-long participation in the law school’s Appellate Litigation Clinic.
Upon completion of law school, Barkha served as a judicial law clerk for the New Jersey Superior Court in Mercer County working for several judges within the civil division. In addition her clerkship experience Barkha worked at an insurance defense firm before joining Bennett, Bricklin and Saltzburg LLC. Recently, she became a graduate of the Fall 2015 Young Involved in Philadelphia, (“YIP”)” Board Prep Program and is currently matched through the Philadelphia Bar Foundation’s Board Observer Program with the Nationalities Service Center which provides a variety of services to newly arrived immigrants.
When she is not aggressively defending our clients, Barkha can be found dancing, smiling, and globe-trotting.
